Welcome to The Hockering Estate Residents' Association Website

The Hockering Estate situated in Woking, Surrey was established in about 1910 by Walter George Tarrant and comprises of 95 residences along four privately owned roads. The Estate enjoys a rural atmosphere with the trees, hedges and verges contributing in a major way to the ambience, accompanied by a wide variety of birds and other wildlife which add to it's unique character. Successive Officers of the Hockering Residents' Association (HRA) with their fellow Committee members have carefully worked over the years to protect and maintain the special distinctive environment of the Hockering, assisted by the co-operation and desire of those that live here.

The Hockering generally has a friendly atmosphere and there are a number of annual community events to join in with, including a summer street party, carol singing and wine tasting evenings. Woking with its town centre shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema etc also has a train station with fast trains up to London, which is walkable from the Estate. There are links to the websites of various local amenities on this page, together with some information about the History of the Hockering and the Terms and Conditions of use for the website.
